The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (Department) proposes amendments to the vehicle storage facilities rules (16 Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Chapter 85, ยงยง85.200, 85.709, 85.710, 85.725, and 85.1003). The proposed amendments were recommended by the Towing, Storage, and Booting Advisory Board as a general rule cleanup so that these rules are internally consistent and in harmony with 16 TAC, Chapter 86, rules regarding the towing of vehicles.
The proposed rule amendments were originally proposed in the September 14, 2012 issue of the Texas Register (37 TexReg 7250); however, the proposed rule amendments were withdrawn on January 18, 2013. The proposed amendments were re-published in the February 1, 2013, issue of the Texas Register (38 TexReg 458). The Department will accept comments on the proposal until March 4, 2013. All comments previously submitted in response to the September 14, 2012, proposed rule filing, which was withdrawn will be considered in addition to comments received in response to this filing.
The Department encourages anyone interested in the Vehicle Storage Facilities program to review the rule proposal. View the proposed rules
